So there I was, eating my way through a packet of Starburst happily. First a red one, then a yellow one (while cringing), then those purple ones...

And then I had a shocking shock that was so shockingly astonishing that I almost had a heart attack. I ate a green one, naturally assuming that it would be apple flavoured, what with the majority of apples being green and it being a common flavour for many different types of sweets and other flavoured goods. However, the little green cuboid turned on me in a shocking turn of events. It sent a deplorable sour taste shooting down my foobe (food tube, to those of you without thorough digestive system knowledge). It turns out that the green colour of the wrapping on those particular starburst sweets is somehow supposed to depict lemon and lime flavour.

And do you know what the worst thing is? At the time I was on coach B of a GNER train - apparently the 'quiet coach' - so I wasn't allowed to loudly complain about the despicable misinformation of Starburst packaging. They should write explicitly "despite the fact that you may think the green sweets are apple, they are in fact not apple, so there are no apple sweets in this packet at all". Well, they may want to think of something a bit less waffley and the such, but still, it makes sense to warn people so they needn't unexpectedly endure lemon and lime when they are expecting a nice burst (get it? StarBURST? Sigh...) of apple.
